I just received word yesterday that my cousin Brian is critical in hospital after a tragic accident, in which he fell from a 4th storey window and landed on his head. He broke his leg, cracked his skull, shattered his jaw, broke a number of teeth, destroyed one of his eyes and he’s currently on a life support machine to help him breathe as his face and throat are too swollen up for him to do it on his own. He’s very lucky to be alive, but is in danger of losing his sight completely and could end up brain damaged.

It’s not the first tragedy his family have had to face, with various truly terrible things having happened to them in the past. I’d have thought they’d have had more than their quota of hardship by now. My thoughts and hopes go out to them at this difficult time and I hope Brian recovers as much as is possible. For any of you out there who believe in the power of prayer, right now your prayers would be most appreciated.
