Hi there! First time here? Feel free to subscribe to my RSS feed. If you like what you read, you can vote for me on IrishBlogs.info. Thanks for visiting!
Apparently, things are “back to normal” this week as the radio show returns after a two week break which was enforced upon us by that bastard of bastards “LIVE FOOTBALL”. Grr. We’ll have a “normal” top ten (that being the top ten duets of all time… can’t believe we didn’t try that one yet) and the usual features of the gig guide, celeb news, some comedy junk and the usual bitching and banter between myself and my “assistant” (hah, he’ll like that!), Darren.
We’ll also have new music from Snow Patrol, The Killers, The Scissor Sisters and the one and only original J-Lo (Johnny Logan) with his new hippity hop version of “Hold Me Now” featuring Kaye Styles. Oh yes! Aside from that, listen out for tracks from Apeboy, Annie Lennox and Nelly Furtado (which we may or may not play) and a very good live recording of “Rocky Took A Lover” from Bell X1.
Oh and we’re giving away free hot pizza… if anyone can be bothered winning it… I won’t be having any myself as kinda I’ve let myself go a wee bit on the ould junk food from KFC and McD’s lately, but if you want some yourself and you live in or near Dundalk, be sure to tune in and be sure to text us on 087-29 55 500 during the show with your excuses/reasons why you deserve free food. … and no, “I’m very hungry” or “I know where you live/work/drink” won’t do.
While I’m mentioning the radio show, I absolutely must recommend the show that’s now airing before us on a Friday night - In Conversation - in which French interviewer extraordinaire Aurélie Montfrond talks with a different Irish band every week. This week it’s the turn of “The Chapters, while next week, October 6th, she gets to natter with the “Republic Of Loose. Damn, that girl gets all the exclusives, eh? You can hear her from 6pm on Fridays (on Dundalk FM 100) and then, of course!- keep listening from 7pm onwards to hear myself and Darren on the Wall of Sound.
Anyway! Big exciting and secret things have been going on in the background for me that I can’t really mention yet, but when I know more (early next week), I’ll be sure to blog about it. It could be nothing, but it could be massive. We’ll see. Fingers crossed and all that.
