Here in Dundalk, the following pubs are taking part in Coca-Cola’s Christmas 2006 Designated Driver Campaign: Brubakers, McEntagart’s, The Clanbrassil, Courtneys, Danes/Amber, The Sportsbowl (Martha’s Vineyard), Dundalk Stadium, The Fairways Hotel, Harvey’s, McGeough’s, O’Connell’s, The Jockey’s, The Park Inn Bar, The Windsor.

Basically, if while in any of those pubs, you nominate yourself as a designated driver for two or more people who are drinking and therefore abstain from drinking alcoholic drinks, you will get up to 3 free soft drinks from the Coca-Cola range (Coke, Diet Coke, Fanta, Sprite, Sprite Zero, Deep River Rock Still or Sparkling or Fruice) as a reward/incentive for doing so.

Granted, Coca-Cola, of all companies, can well afford to give away a few freebies - but it’s a sensible, smart and certainly a very responsible way of doing so - giving it to people who are doing the right thing… so fair play to them, indeed!
