If you noticed in my previous entry "Kicking the Sticks", that the YouTube video of Sanzkrit performing on BalconyTV is "no longer available" - well, there’s a reason for that… It would seem the BalconyTV have had to move their video hosting to myspace after having their account unceremoniously deleted by YouTube.

They’re still trying to sort the matter out with YouTube/Google and get their (>200) videos back, as they explain on their own blog, but getting in touch with Google (who now own YouTube) is, it seems, as difficult as getting in touch with Osama Bin Laden.

It really is a pity that ‘GooTube’ act in such a cold callous way in deleting accounts with no discussion - particularly in this case, as BalconyTV is an excellent site and a brilliant resource for both established and up-and-coming bands who want to get their music and/or message out there to the masses. Here’s hoping they get the videos back and return their archive to its former glory.

One Response to “BalconyTV goes ‘off the air’”

It’s back… as reported on their blog, they’ve sorted out their differences with YouTube and their archive is back online.

Hurrah \o/
