Hi there! First time here? Feel free to subscribe to my RSS feed. If you like what you read, you can vote for me on IrishBlogs.info. Thanks for visiting!

Via The Consumerist - VideoJug have a handy video entitled "How to get the boss to pay you more money". I opened this accidentally in work and had to jump to close it when the opening line of dialog came through the speakers…

Thunderbird 2.0 has arrived - albeit in RC1 (Release Candidate 1 - beta, in other words) format. The new version features Gmail-style message tags, browser-style back/forward buttons for navigating message histories, folder summary pop-ups, find-as-you-type searches, an improved user interface and easy access to Gmail and .Mac accounts. Oh, and it now supports Windows Vista.

Maybe they’re trying to get one up on Sony? Dunno… but Microsoft are slapping Windows Live Messenger into the XBox 360, allowing users to chat straight from their TV’s. Frankly, if I had a 360 (I don’t), I think this would be a distraction rather than a "feature", but that’s progress… I guess.

Looking into my keyboards @ work, I found a surprising amount of sausage-roll pastry, dust, dead skin cells (I presume!) and other undesirable bits and pieces so I took the advice of RealSimple.com and cleaned it out using sticky-tape. Amazing what simple solutions you can find to some problems.

Want to convert those audio or video files of yours to a different format? Need to put movies on your phone/pda/PSP/iPod? Downloaded your favourite film in WMV but want it in DivX? Don’t want to pay? Ahhh… MediaCoder is a handy universal media transcoder released under the GPL license - so it’s a complete fully featured and very useful application - and it’s free. Yes you read right. "FREE". Oh, and if you want to convert YouTube or Google Video videos into files, then all you need is the Vixy.net Online FLV Converter - which is also free to use. Nice!
