As Michele says, Google desktop is now available for Linux (download here) – now that I’ve at least partially ported over (gave it 10GB on my hard drive – still dual-booting with XP) to Ubuntu Feisty Fawn, I’m looking for reasons to make it my primary O/S of choice. Feel free to give me suggestions of great programs to install in Ubuntu…
Meanwhile, I used to be a fan of what they call ’sports entertainment’ so I’m still shocked by the ever-changing story of the double-murder & suicide of WWE wrestling superstar, Chris Benoit. Now it’s emerged that Benoit’s doctor’s office has been raided by officials – and, perhaps, more interestingly (much as I hate quoting Fox News), there’s the story that someone (possibly within the WWE) posted the story of Nancy Benoit’s murder “at least 13 hours before police in suburban Atlanta said they found her body along with her husband’s and that of their 7-year-old son”. The Wikipedia article itself has been disabled until July 8th because of the vandalism, but is a good source of information if you’re wondering what’s going on there.
Dublin is getting it’s own underground rail system by 2015. Believe it when you see it, eh?
Finally a few videos…
Via UnaRocks: After the interview that Paris Hilton gave with Larry King, which got more than it’s fair share of media coverage, MSNBC News anchor, Mika Brzezinski ripped up the headline news story about her and refused to report on it. Brilliantly done! Frankly, more journalists should do the same. The less media coverage the stupid spoiled whore gets, the better!
I just watched Rocky Balboa (again) and now I’m can’t wait to see this:
(Warning: Extreme/bloody violence)
The Edge from U2… HE DANCES LIKE YOUR DA!:
Mock rockers Spinal Tap are reuniting for Live Earth. Now there’s a gig I’d like to go to!
