Cormac O’Caoimh is the founder member of the Citadels, whose "unique, mellow and melodic sound brings to mind the Prefab Sprout and The Go Betweens bands of the 80’s. Clear and intelligent lyrics combine with a light folk / pop melody to give a great chill-out mood." (Quote from WikiPedia article).
His new album "Start A Spark" will be launched on August 17th on 220 worldwide iTunes sites and 100 commercial sites including Wippit, HMV, Virgin, Sony PSP, MSN Mobile, Orange, Tesco and countless others. It will be released on CD in September. The first single from the album, "Lazy Gazing" is available for download NOW for the paltry sum of 99 cents (since 3pm today!). I’ve just downloaded it and apparently all he needs to get in the charts is 170 downloads before next Friday (August 3rd), so you can help! - as his email newsletter says:
can you please do the following…(it will cost 99 cent…but more on that later..it could actually help you gain 101 cent).
…
So this is the favour
(1) Text “music 464” to this number : 57501 NB..dont include the quotes (“”) ..so you will be texting:
Music 464
To this number
57501
(2) After that you will texted a password which you can use to download the single from this site: http://www.downloadmusic.ieNow..the thing is it doesn’t register with the charts unless the song is actually downloaded. So doing me a favour and buying it..but not downloading…wont help. So (if you’re not downloading it) - could you:
(3) Forward the text you receive to me at 0879628589
(4) I will download it so it registers
(5) You can download it yourself then again later if you want (The password in your text expires after 1 week)
(6) AND…keep the text on your phone. Show the text at any of the gigs listed below…and get 2 euro off the admission fee (if there is a cover charge)….so….you actually end up making money!! (brilliant!)
Talented guy - help him out - get his (excellent) new single for only 99c and help get more IRISH music in the Irish charts and therefore onto Irish radio! I’ll be playing his stuff on my show, which starts up again next Friday.
