Hi there! First time here? Feel free to subscribe to my RSS feed. If you like what you read, you can vote for me on IrishBlogs.info. Thanks for visiting!

What started out as a little personal project has exploded into something potentially huge…! I’m still totally bowled over by the interest my new blog site ShiteDrivers.com has generated. It kinda feels like I’ve created a monster!

According to my stats, there have been just under 44,000 page views on the site in the past 3 days alone, with viewers in pratically every major town in Ireland (the majority from Dublin), plus a good few hundred visits from the UK, the rest of Europe (particularly Norway, Sweden and Denmark) and the USA. Over 56% of visitors are direct (meaning that they’re tapping in ’shitedrivers.com’ into their browsers and not linking from anywhere) with another 31% of visitors finding the site through Google.

So far, I’ve been interviewed live on three national radio stations (2FM, Today FM and Newstalk), local stations from Dublin, Waterford, Clare and Northern Ireland (to name but a few) and there’s been articles (all of which can be seen on the site) in five national papers (The Sunday Tribune, The Irish Examiner, The Irish Sun, The Irish Mirror and The Irish News) and two Dundalk Papers (the Argus and the Democrat). Tomorrow I expect to be talking with a radio station in Cork and … yes … the BBC!

All this coupled with the fact that the signups to the site have been, up until now, processed manually (by me alone) - meaning that I had to enter almost 100 users details by hand (it’s all automated …now!) - and the fact that I had a very busy week in work - means that it’s been a very hectic week for me and I’m pretty run down at this stage.

My sincere thanks to all who have visited the site, mailed me with their support, and posted up comments or articles there. Some of the articles are controversial - some of them are downright hilarious - and most of them have provoked plenty of intelligent debate, which I’m delighted with.

Keep the stories coming, folks! Sign up for ShiteDrivers.com now!

Normal blogging on this site will resume shortly…
