Hi there! First time here? Feel free to subscribe to my RSS feed. If you like what you read, you can vote for me on IrishBlogs.info. Thanks for visiting!

Michele and Damien are having a(nother) disagreement - this time over the use of "bad" language in blogs. Oh dear… Pistols at ten paces, and then back to the lodge for tea and crumpets, by jove…

Looking for a DJ? Here’s a good place to start! - or you could just ask me, if the gig’s close enough to Dundalk ;-)

While researching this weeks Top Ten for the radio show, I stumbled across The Canonical List of Weird Band Names. There are some real gems in there such as;- "The Pissed Officers", "People With Chairs Up Their Noses", "Dirty Dick and the Trojan Test Pilots", "Gee That’s A Large Beetle I Wonder If It’s Poisonous", and my own personal favourite - "The Do I Look Like I Give A Fucks". Dundalk has a band called "The Well Hungarians" (as does Saint Louis/Nashville), but they don’t make it onto the list, sadly…

Saw this on the cover of the Indo today… Get the rugby sorted out first, Eddie… your head might be called for as well as Bertie’s! Maybe Ian Paisley’s should be too - heard on the radio today, on my way back from Newry, that he’s decided he’ll stand for election again. Personally,- I really can’t stand that asshole

67% of readers who took part in a ShiteDrivers.com poll believe that little or no Irish taxi drivers are what could be described as "professional" drivers, with 23% saying that about half of them are. 9% say that most of them are professional drivers, while 2% answered “Don’t Know”. Of course that adds up to 101%… so they’re only rough figures, I guess!

In social networking news, Microsoft and Google are battling it out for a minority stake in Facebook. Microsoft’s offer of somewhere between $300 and $500 million for a 5% stake gives the site an estimated value of $10 billion… is that realistic?

… Who cares?! - when you can rock on to Journey’s "Any Way You Want It"!:

Hey, it’s us, the original (1995) creators of The Canonical List of Weird Band Names, which has since been reproduced on hundreds of websites. Just wanted to let you know that we’ve relaunched the list and are actively updating it. Check it out at http://www.brightlightsfilm.com/weirdbandnames. Feel free to send us some names!
