Hi there! First time here? Feel free to subscribe to my RSS feed. If you like what you read, you can vote for me on IrishBlogs.info. Thanks for visiting!

By all means, draw your own conclusions, - but it would seem to me that Jim Corr, guitarist with Dundalk based band “The Corrs”, has far too much time, money and Internet access on his hands.

In a radio interview on Today FM’s “The Last Word” yesterday, he went on a well rehearsed rant about the Lisbon Treaty and the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Apparently, he got on the air thanks to his buddy Tony Fenton (pictured with him here).

During his rant, he claimed that:

  • The Bush administration, with the help of the intelligence community - the CIA, etc., carried out the atrocities in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania
  • Explosives were planted in the WTC towers in order to ensure that they “collapsed neatly into their own footprint”
  • Rudolph Guiliani, then mayor of New York, covered it up by shipping evidence (including steel from the towers) abroad
  • None of the hi-jackers were actually on the airline passenger manifests and at least eight are still alive and free today
  • We are headed towards a “new world order” culminating in a single world government which he said would be a “scientific dictatorship” - starting with Mexico, Canada and the US merging (and using one currency, the “Amero“) - and those later merging with Europe and Asia.
  • It all smacks quite clearly of some very well known conspiracy theories which have been circulating on the Internet for the past 6 years (including one in a Google Video which he referenced) - most of which a lot of us have heard (and laughed at, in fairness) before and most if not all of which have been comprehensively debunked.

Oh!- and he also claimed, in a roundabout way, that the Lisbon Treaty will mean the eventual introduction of the death penalty in the E.U.

They’re also talking about this on boards.ie and Damien blogged about this earlier today (but the YouTube video he referenced doesn’t have the full interview)…

So here’s the full interview now:

Oh and Jim’s not alone either…! Won’t we all be kicking ourselves if 10 or 20 years down the line, he’s found out to have been correct all along? Ray D’Arcy said on air today that if that does happen, he’ll publicly apologise to Jim Corr for not believing him but added that he didn’t think at that stage anyone would care about the Louth man’s opinion.

Do we care now? Whatever about Jim’s “sensational” outburst - everyone should get themselves properly informed - there’s only two weeks left before the country goes to the polls in the Lisbon Treaty Referendum.

Hmm, interesting mind you have there, glad its so open to the world you live in. Please provide links to where these claims “have been comprehensively debunked.” and no sites that have silly young men who say conspiracy theorists are all insane over and over again until it is firmly implanted in the weak minded. When you can show me direct links to people who have far more credentials than alot of the qualified people who have stated the exact same as Jim Corr and have un questionable proof that these theories are nonscence, rather than just stating at how you scoff at these people, perhaps your dribbling scribles on the internet can be taken more seriously.

    Now,
    Gulf of Tonkin.
    Bilderberg.

Go research, have fun. But i seem to think you are not capable of escaping that tiny box of a brain you force yourself to live in.

You should check out Scholars for truth. http://st911.org They are a collection of over 80 scholars of architecture, many fields of science including physics, Engineering, etc. They believe that 9/11 was an inside job and have started their own international organization and some of them tour America and the world doing conferences on the subject.

Also Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth!
    http://www.ae911truth.org/
They are Architects and Engineers Re-examining the WTC Collapses — Word from the editor

The 6 years since 9/11/01 has given us the time and space to emerge from the hypnotic trance of the shocks of these attacks and to rationally evaluate the existing and new evidence that has become available.

9/11 was an inside Job! one only has to look at building 7. A child could tell you that was a controlled demolition. But then a child would have more courage to look with an open mind.

In the interest of fairness, and after reading the comments of “notimportant”, above, I’ve struck out the the words “most of which have been comprehensively debunked” from my post and I retract those words as I freely admit that no, I haven’t researched the subject matter sufficiently to solidly make that claim here.

    Other people have though…

I do, however, - like many others - hold the opposite view of Jim Corr, that 9/11 wasn’t a conspiracy by the US government and that the rest of what he claimed (bullet pointed in the post above) is simply untrue. He seems to me to have been suckered in by one of the many conspiracy theories that have been floating around the ‘net for the past few years.

Oh and anyone can post URLs…

… and after researching it well (particularly after reading the sites linked by “Basra” above - and the Debunking 9/11 site at http://www.debunking911.com/ ), I’ve put the words back in ;)

Here is what Gore Vidal had to say on the story broken by the India Times, as well as covered by the Wall Street Journal: that fighter jets were, in fact, not scrambled on the morning of 9/11 to warn, redirect or shoot down the highjacked airliners:

“According to law, they all should have been up there. And not one went up,” Vidal, who’s father as director of the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Air Commerce, helped develop the Air Force procedures charged.

“Well, that could have only happen if somebody told them to stand down- not to respond to what was, after all, their sworn duty. “
