Back in a bit…

Hi there! First time here? Feel free to subscribe to my RSS feed. If you like what you read, you can vote for me on IrishBlogs.info. Thanks for visiting!

Okay, I’ve been away for a few days (went to visit my brother and his housemates in London) and now I’m having problems with my laptop (which I’m slowly sorting out) so I’ve been away from blogging for a short while and will be for a LITTLE bit longer. Took some nice photos in London,- I’ll probably post them.

In the meantime, here’s a video a friend’s sister showed me recently that made me laugh out loud… Achmed, the dead terrorist.

… to run for President?

(yes, you can tell she’s reading from an autocue or idiot board, but she sounds like she understands it!)

… or to kick the bucket?

You decide!

Titanic meets Instant Messaging

I guess I “LOL”‘d when I saw this on Robot Chicken on Bravo TV tonight.

… and I’m enough of a nerd to wonder “shouldn’t Jack have said ‘AFK’ or ‘NN’ instead of ‘BRB’?”. Ugh… :)

RTÉ consider Killinaskully “news”
Monday, June 16th, 2008

RTÉ’s new “News Now” streaming video service service (as discussed on Mulley’s site, here) is pretty good - it provides rolling news from the state broadcaster with repeats of the latest bulletins and special live events… except, of course, when they go and do this:

This evenings episode of that hilarious home grown comedy Killinaskully was streamed on the news service.

They followed it up by leading up to the 9 O’Clock news with “Disasters”, an RTÉ Factual department production. It’s a documentary about the loss of life on trawlers off the Donegal coast and so clearly fits the “news channel” bill.

No explanation for Killinaskully though… It would appear though that either they somehow consider it to fit that bill too, or someone was just asleep at the wheel this evening in RTÉ…

The above is obviously comedy, but their message is clearly that you should vote “No” on Thursday.

In the interest of balance, here’s the real Brian telling you why you actually SHOULD vote Yes on Thursday, Sinn Féin telling you you should vote No, and, of course, there’s LisbonTreaty2008.ie - a site which presents information on the treaty to you and leaves the decision to you.
