Hi there! First time here? Feel free to subscribe to my RSS feed. If you like what you read, you can vote for me on IrishBlogs.info. Thanks for visiting!

Ah the sandwich board… ideal place for witty outbursts. This really got the punters piling in, in our local pub (which I’m manager of) recently…

Well no, not really, - but the one that got a laugh is a picture I don’t have to hand.

It originally advertised that we were showing the RUSSIA -VS- SPAIN match on the big screen, but some smartarse vandal with a piece of chalk changed the R in RUSSIA to a P, changed the IA to a Y, then changed the -VS- to -IN- and rubbed off the S in SPAIN… so it looked like we were advertising some class of porno show. The sandwich board was sitting outside (with the title you can figure out for yourself!) for a couple of hours before I realised it.

Naturally, some of the regulars snapped that sign with their camera phones… must get one of them to send it to me.

Hat-trick Plus One
Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

“Tonight beats the shit out of last week”, I said to our goalie during our football match tonight. And I was right… because last week I generally played shite, … giving the ball away a lot and even going as far as to score an own-goal.

God, I was terrible.

Tonight though, I netted myself 4 great goals. That’s four. Yes, FOUR. It’s a hat-trick PLUS ONE. And it made me feel DAMN good :)

In fact, I was looking for the right word for it,- if there is one. I know two is a brace and obviously three is a hat-trick… but is there a word for four? A double brace? A topped-hat-trick?

I’m putting it all down to one thing - EVERY week so far I’ve worn an Ireland shirt (the one with the silver lining that I won in a Carlsberg competition), but this week, due to a laundry mishap (or, I guess you could call it a “wardrobe malfunction”) - i.e.: my Ireland shirt wasn’t washed… I had to wear this: (see picture).

More panorama goodness

Took more photos today, playing around with the panorama setting on the camera again. (Well, it worked well last time)…

What fun. Oh joy. My life is so exciting! Woo! :-) … etc.

Was a nice day for it.

Panoramic
Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Got my camera back off my folks (they were using it for their holidays) and played around with the ‘panorama’ function for a bit. These are the results:

Back garden (5 images stitched)
- 2.29Mb - As I mentioned before, pretty much all my ‘worldly posessions’ are in that little barbecue house on the right there.

Donabate (5 images stitched)
- 1.38Mb - I’m living here for now. That’s my silver Punto outside the wall there. The road is actually straight ;)

Sleepy Dog (2 images stitched)
- 1.75Mb - the family dog, “Mac”, relaxing in the sunshine.

PS: Spent some time today re-doing the design and layout of the blog… I like it. Hope you do too!

What exciting lives we lead

lucy-pinder-superman-shirt.jpgMy brother and I have the parents house to ourselves for the next 12 days or so. Neither of us are working right now. We’re pretty much sitting around the whole time, watching TV (again, lots of Scrubs), playing the Playstation 3, eating (LOTS of) toast, doing a bit of drinking and each of us constantly looking for the opportunity to respond to the other with “so’s your face” or some other such “witty” comment.

I managed to cook a full Sunday dinner for two yesterday - boiled ham and cabbage, mashed potatoes, gravy and… er… cocktail sausages. Might not seem like a massive achievement and I know it’s just a matter of lobbing everything in where it goes and timing it right… but hey, this is me here.

By the way, this picture is only here because I found it when I did a Google Images search for “I’m No Superman” while watching Scrubs. Yeah, that’s why.

So’s your face.

[EDIT]: By the way, here’s the clip from Scrubs:
