Yes… well I mean “shot” in the photographic sense.

Today, a large number of local Gardaí were on hand for photo-shoots and interiviews and to give out a few hundred leaflets in the streets of Swords in Co. Dublin.

The reason behind it is their ongoing investigation into the attack which took place in the early hours of last Sunday morning in Jacko Park in the town, during which a 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted leaving her with serious head and facial injuries.

Crimestoppers are offering a €10,000 reward to track down the culprit - who is aged between 18 and 25 years of age, is 5ft 5ins to 5ft 8ins in height, has dark hair and sallow skin, and was wearing a black baseball cap and a black zipped hoodie at the time.

Plenty of media people were present, with newspaper photographers, TV3 reporters and an interviewer from FM104 (the girl in black with the red mic) all there when I was passing.

More info from the Irish times, here. Hopefully something good will come from this and Gardaí will get some solid leads and find the asshole in question. Swords Gardaí can be contacted at 01-666 4700 or via the free Garda Confidential Number 1-800-666-111.

I know I only posted about McDonalds recently, but this is only indirectly about them.

It’s mostly about the fun, entertaining and talent filled LineRider.com who have created an animated commercial for McDonalds. Nice to see some recognition for a talented innovator (Boštjan Cadež, a Slovenian university student) - and nice to see him get paid for doing something he loves (… *sigh!*).

Here’s the ad, which is showing on US television, with the backing track being classic rock track “Hocus Pocus” by Focus :

The recent entry of “Dustin the Turkey” into the Eurovision on Ireland’s behalf raised a question which I hadn’t considered before but which is still vital all the same and definitely needs answering.

It’s a question which I know has been in many people’s minds and on many people’s lips since the first few lines of “Irlande Douze Points” eminated from the crooked tuneless beak of Ireland’s favourite avian entertainer that sad sad day in May…

And that question is… DOES TERRY WOGAN WEAR A WIG?

Well, while plenty of people insist that he does and Wogan’s own comments (”What would be the point of me having one if I was going to tell you?”) sort of hint that he does wear one, have no fear, for a HOT CHICK beings us the definitive answer!

And she’s not just any hot chick either, - this fine looking young lady is Jane Wogan. She’s done some kids TV here in Ireland, and now wants to do what Davina McCall does and “throw herself out of helicopters”. Yes. She says she’s “bang up” for all that stuff. (I’m sure you are, dear…)

Oh, and to top all that, she’s a niece of that famous Limerick born radio and TV star and, in an interview for mens mag, Maxim she said this (among other things):

‘As soon as people realise my family connections the first thing they ask is, ‘Does Terry wear a wig?’ So before you ask, the answer is no he doesn’t.’

Glad that’s settled, then…

(What was the question again?)

I always thought I had a face for radio… Well now, that face for radio will be seen on TV as I’ve been invited to take part, as a representative of the ShiteDrivers.com web site, in a televised panel discussion programme to be screened on UTV!

A television camera, yesterday

It’s being recorded in their Belfast studios this Friday afternoon (May 2nd), so it’s northward-bound with me on the Enterprise on Friday morning!

The programme is about young drivers and ‘boy racers’ in Northern Ireland. If anyone reading this is interested in taking part too, read this. I’ve never been to Belfast before, nevermind to the studios of UTV… should be interesting!
